Mama’s Milk Clinic

All major health authorities agree that breastmilk is the golden standard in regards to infant nutrition. Breastfeeding is also a beautiful and rewarding way to mother your baby.  More and more women are recognizing these benefits and making the decision to breastfeed. Establishing a breastfeeding relationship is a learning process for both mother and baby, one that often requires support and guidance to ensure success.  The Louisville area does have a growing support network in place to assist breastfeeding mothers in the learning process. We are excited to add Mama’s Milk Breastfeeding Clinic to the mix of resources currently in place!

The clinic’s mission is to provide lactation consultation and education services to breastfeeding women, regardless of ability to pay. The clinic and store environment are nurturing and fun, supporting our goal of promoting physical and emotional health and well-being for mothers and babies. The clinic’s partnership with
Mama’s Hip has allowed us to further expand the community resources that we wish to provide to
Louisville’s parenting community. An array of classes, parent-support groups, and breastfeeding and natural parenting products are available to meet many of the physical and social needs of new parents.

Mama's Milk Breastfeeding Clinic is located in the back of Mama's Hip store. Both businesses share a playroom/waiting area and a classroom. A private consultation room is available for one-on-one breastfeeding assistance and counseling.

The clinic owner, Christy Ramos, has 10 years of breastfeeding support experience as a neonatal intensive care nurse, 2 years as an accredited La Leche League Leader, a year and a half as a Certified Lactation Counselor and a year as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She also has 4 years of personal breastfeeding experience. She is active in the local birth and parenting community, with many resources to rely on for referrals and support.

Christy will be hosting the following breastfeeding support classes at Mama's Hip. Please refer to the calender for days and times:
